"Independence Day" was the title of the competitive class; four entries in this class, each staged on a 42" high pedestal. Line material is Westringia fruiticosa (Australian rosemary), blue-gray succulents are Senecio mandraliscae ("Blue chalksticks"), red Asiatic lilies, and clear glass gems glued to rattan "Tings".

It won a blue ribbon last Saturday at the Vista Garden Club Flower Show in San Diego County . My interpretation: thinking of fireworks going up into the sky and falling to the ground."

"My Eden rose never fails to amaze and excite me with its consistent beauty.  I look forward every year to the first flush which is nothing short of spectacular and has inspired many others to plant one for themselves."

"This is the beginning of a fairy garden I'm creating with my great-niece, Lily.  She's only 1 1/2 years old and lives in Oregon so we'll  be working on this for many years.

I purchased the miniature ivy and trellis at M & M Nursery in Orange.  The little Zebra Aloe was propagated by Cora Raybin and purchased by me at one of the garden club boutique sales."
