• Location: Descanso Gardens– Board bus at the Norman P. Murray Center
  
• Steve Mefford will accompany us on a tour of the amazing Descanso Gardens in La Cañada Flintridge.  Descanso Gardens has the largest collection of camellias in North America and many will be in bloom in February!  We will bring our lunches along on a chartered bus to the Gardens, take the tram tour, and dine in the picnic area or in one of the meeting rooms. After wards, we’ll board the bus again a short distance to Nuccio’s Nursery in Altadena, growers of rare camellias and azaleas since 1935.  Members will be able to shop from the hundreds of varieties available. We should return to the Murray center about 2:30 PM.
  
  Steve Mefford holds a degree in horticulture, and a qualified applicators license with the State of California.  He is a past President of the Orange County Camellia Society and has been a board member for the Southern California Camellia Societies for the past 5 years.  He is a State director and a board member for California to the American Camellia Society.
